Biennale Gherdëina Dolomites

Born in Merano in 1977, Leimer lives and works in Vienna.
With a diploma from the Fine Arts Academy of Vienna, she has worked abroad in different places, including Berlin, where she has been spending a lot of time recently.
In Sonia Leimer’s work elements of different types – videos, text, graphic work, modular actions – are related to space, both real and virtual. She pays special attention to the relationship between staging and the culture of the image; her installations reveal the conceptual approach and the minimal aesthetic of her work.

In 2013 she exhibited her work in Berlin’s BC Gallery, at LAMOA – Los Angeles Museum of Art and at BIG ART in Salzburg.
